Reinventing Ecstatic Temple: Let’s Co-Create This Future, Together
Newsletter, March 10th
To reinvent: To give a new dimension to something that already exists; to rediscover it.
To reinvent oneself: To give a new direction to one’s life.
(Larousse definitions)
Ecstatic Temple is changing.
Not the values.
Not the mission.
Not what makes us unique.
But the way we organize ourselves,
the way we grow,
the way we care for this community.
For the past few months, I have been facing a beautiful challenge:
How do you communicate to an entire community that the structure of Ecstatic Temple needs to change so that the project can continue to exist — without making anyone panic?
How do you bring forward a new vision and direction when you don’t yet have all the skills needed to implement it?
In these reflections, I had to face a fear: the possibility that the Temple might disappear — at least in its current form. I realized that holding tightly to what has been built over the past seven years would not work either. The evidence is simple: we already tried the old model. It is time to attempt something radically different.
Sometimes we must accept letting go of something that still exists — “destroying” certain structures so that something new can emerge. I am proud of the work accomplished so far, of everything that has been built and that now allows us to imagine the future on solid foundations.
For the past few weeks, something has been taking shape. And what is emerging has the potential to be even better than anything I could have imagined.
On March 17, our Annual General Assembly will take place, along with the election of four new board members, who will sit alongside Mathieu Constantin for the coming year.
This change in the board will be an opportunity to create a real transition in the structure and governance of the nonprofit. A small team has already begun working to imagine what comes next: a co-leadership structure that will encourage the emergence of projects, greater community involvement, and — we hope — increased stability for the future of Ecstatic Temple.
At the heart of our values are community, empowerment, and learning through experience. Ecstatic Temple has always been a courageous project — one that is not afraid to question established structures. It feels completely aligned, then, to reconsider the traditional “pyramidal” model and create… what exactly?
In this vision, a profound shift occurs: it will no longer be the facilitators who hold the direction and management of the nonprofit — it will be you: the members, the participants, the community.
You will be able to co-create what you want to see and invite into the future of the Temple.
And we will be there to respond to those needs by creating content, workshops, rituals, and events — while offering vision and guidance to maintain a clear and coherent direction.
We will present all of this during a Community Activation Meeting on Sunday, March 15, from 1 PM to 5 PM. (held in French, possibility for so,e translation)
Who is this for?
You who come to the Cuddles, Temples, Tendres, retreats, or other activities
You who have always wanted to contribute but didn’t know how
You who would like to help organize, welcome, communicate, or create activities
You who feel this community is special and want to help protect it
No matter how long you’ve been part of it
I trust that many of us are dreaming of a different future.
It is time to create it together.
